If you haven’t ever spread bet before use the Gloucester v Newcastle game this weekend as a taster. You need only risk £1 per point (or even less) so you can still win a tidy sum without risking much at all. One word of caution…if Gloucester only win by 10 points you would lose 4 x your stake, but as they say, high risk, high reward and this bet is as close to a dead cert as they come.

Firstly deposit a sum into your account then click on the rugby tab on the right hand side. The winning margin bet will be the top option on the screen for the match, put your stake (e.g £1 which effectively means £1 per point, £5 means £5 per point etc) in the box and click on buy to back Gloucester to win by more than the spread they are quoting at that point. Check what this is before you decide whether to go ahead and you will then be moved to another screen which describes the bet you intend to place and at this point you can confirm or cancel the bet. Check this carefully before confirming the bet and then watch the money come rolling in! The bet can be closed out through the ‘open bets’ section in ‘my account’ prior to kick off.

Similarly, in the rugby league buy Leeds Rhinos at 22 vs the Catalans. Leeds have been on fire and should put over 50 points on the Dragons. Say they win 55-10, that is a winning margin of 45 against a spread of 22 = a win of 23 x your stake! Don’t forget though, if Leeds win by 15, it’s a loss of 7 x your stake.
